The 2022 Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge State Champions: The Wackpack!

Congratulations to our winners: Tori Mire, Sophia McKean, and Reagan Ordoyne from Mount Carmel Academy. Their product, The Wackpack, won first place in the 2022 Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge State Finals. Each student will take home a $5,000 scholarship, provided by the Brees Dream Foundation & Free Chick-fil-A for a year!

The Wackpack is an ingeniously designed backpack with an attached fold-out raincoat that covers both you and your backpack. After winning the local final competition on April 30th, the team dazzled our state judges to bring home the win!

And the winner is…

Congratulations to our 2021 Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge State Champion, Makenzie Rogers of Shreveport, LA! Her idea “Clean Crate” earned her a total of $15,000 in scholarships from her local and state-wide competition!

Makenzie’s idea, Clean Crate, is an affordable and environmentally friendly beauty subscription service, where the products are formulated to fit our customers’ needs. The formulas are designed through an online quiz and will arrive in recyclable or biodegradable packaging.

A big congrats, too, to our runners-up at this year’s state competition: “Plan Pals” (Lafayette), “Home Drone” (New Orleans), and “Green Sky Ads” (Baton Rouge). Each runner-up has earned a total of $7,500 in scholarships, too!

2021 GNO Winners + Runners Up Announced!

The 2021 Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge was entirely virtual here in New Orleans - from the in-class portion in the Fall semester to the 8-week Idea Accelerator Workshop Series in the Spring semester. 13 teams pitched their own Crazy Ideas virtually over the weekend - the scores have been tallied, and we’re proud to announce the 2021 Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge winners + runners up for Greater New Orleans!

Congratulations to Jayda Martin of Edna Karr High School, the 1st Place winner of the Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge in Greater New Orleans! Jayda's idea, "Home Drone," wowed the judges in our virtual pitch competition over the weekend!

Jayda has earned $5,000 in scholarships, $2,500 for her school, free Chick-fil-A for a year, and a spot at the TYCIC State Finals on March 26th at New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, where she will have a shot at an additional $10,000 in scholarships - visit www.noew.org to register to attend!

Congratulations, too, to our runners-up, Noa Nasoff from Isidore Newman School and Mary + Elizabeth Hamilton from Archbishop Chapelle High School! Each runner-up team has earned $2,500 in scholarships.

Congratulations to the 2020 TYCIC State Champions, TraceLine Tracker!

Representing Caddo Career & Technology Center in Shreveport, LA, Hailey DeRamus and Lauren Wise earned $10,000 in scholarships (plus the $5,000 they’d already earned by winning their local competition) by pitching their Crazy Idea to our panel of judges from across the state on Thursday, May 28.
