How can your school get involved?
Simply register. After that, a JA staff member will contact you to discuss delivery of materials. The six lessons are scripted, fun, easy to follow and come with hands-on activities that reiterate the topics covered. We do ask that a volunteer visit the classroom once during the lessons. This is a great way to include parents or members of the school community and have them share their real-life experiences with the students. No previous experience is required and training is provided!
After your students have completed the activities, many will have great ideas and want to apply to be a part of the Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge. All that a student needs to do to participate is to submit a business plan, which can be found within the last lesson of JA Be Entrepreneurial. The deadline to submit applications is November 29.
All semi-finalists attend mandatory JA Idea Accelerator Workshops (Wednesday evenings at Junior Achievement with dinner included) during January and February and will be mentored by young professionals and business owners from throughout the community. We will continue to work with the students to prepare them for the big competition, during the opening to New Orleans Entrepreneur Week in conjunction with The Idea Village.
